Navigating the narrow mountain road up the impossibly steep switchbacks to Finca La Colmenita, or "The Beehive", the views are striking. Far below, the deep valleys of San Pedro Necta stretch out while lush ridges cast shadows from above. La Colmenita farm is nearly at the top, often mystically hidden amidst the clouds. 

La Colmenita producer Francisco Cardona Martin has a drive to produce the best quality coffees possible, by planting varieties known for excellence and investing heavily in innovative farming techniques. Francisco called his farm "The Beehive" because of his love of his bees. Happily buzzing about the farm, Francisco's bees pollinate the coffee plants, creating a natural earthy, full bodied honey sweetness.
