Nectarine · Almond Butter · Chocolate Fudge
Two 10.10oz bags of Ozolotepec, Mexico single-origin
We traveled straight to Ozolotepec, a small town located in the southern part of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, during harvest. The town is relatively isolated, with limited infrastructure so it took us 17 hours to get to the town situated in the Sierra Sur region. The region is known for its rugged mountains, dense forests, and truly outstanding coffee. The coffee is grown in the mountainous terrain and the fertile soils of the region.
We met with the informal collective of coffee farmers – the indigenous group of families who have been growing coffee here for generations. We shared a meal (the most delicious native soup and tortillas), learned about this year's harvest & heard about what goes into all the work behind the cup.
Ozolotepec is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, including mountains, waterfalls, and rivers– where avocados, honey and bananas also grow in abundance. It's truly paradise.
